Magnums are larger bottle formats. Thicker glass, higher production costs. Lesser empty space between the champagne and the cork, which reduces oxidation. Matures better and slower, resulting in more complex and harmonious champagnes.
Magnums are special for their prestige and rarity. Better ageing potential.
